     Alkem Laboratories Ltd has informed BSE that Mr. Sandeep Singh, Joint Managing Director of the Company has been appointed and re-designated as the "Managing Director" for a period of five years with immediate effect subject to approval by the shareholders of the Company. Further, Mr. Sandeep Singh is the grandson of Mr. Samprada Singh, Chairman Emeritus of the Company.

    Further a proposal has also been considered by the Board of Directors that for the smooth transition of Board powers, as and when the Executive Chairman of the Company, Mr. Basudeo N. Singh wishes to step down as an Executive Chairman of the Company, Mr. Dhananjay Kumar Singh, Joint Managing Director, son of Mr. Basudeo N Singh is proposed to be appointed as Executive Chairman of the Company subject to the approval of the Board and the shareholders at that time.
